  • The Mumbai-based Mutual Industries, a leading solutions provider for engineered plastic systems, components and related services, has inked a joint venture with Styl’monde of France, which specialises in moulding heavy gauge vaccum formed parts.  The Mutual-Styl'monde joint venture in India, in the thermoforming process segment, has its value in the advanced process capabilities with benefits for medium-range volume parts which demand high aesthetics and short market life or frequent changes in product features.   • Suzuki Motor Corporation has signed a deal with Malaysian carmaker Proton for the assembly and sale of an entry-level model in its domestic market, which will likely boost exports of its Indian subsidiary Maruti Suzuki.Under the agreement, Suzuki will supply completely knocked down (CKD) kits of cars to Proton, Malaysia's first carmaker established in 1983, which currently enjoys a 17% market share.   • Volvo's premium hatchback, V40 has been launched in India at a price of Rs. 24.75 lakh. The V40 is the hatchback upon which the V40 Cross Country is based, which has been available in the country since 2013. It will be a direct rival to other premium hatchbacks available in the market such as the Mercedes-Benz A-Class and BMW 1-Series.(team-bhp)
  • India today achieved a milestone with the signing of a motor vehicles pact with Bhutan, Nepal and Bangladesh enabling seamless transit of passenger, cargo and vehicles with the first stage of the USD-8 billion road connectivity project set to begin in October. Besides, Myanmar and Thailand have agreed to develop a motor vehicle pact on lines of the draft SAARC Motor vehicle agreement, which will pave the way for greater economic cooperation in the ASEAN region.(cartrade.com)
  • With an eye on doubling its lubricant business by the end of the decade, Repsol, the Spain's largest petroleum company has entered India by announcing a partnership with GP Petroleum Ltd, a UAE based Oil Company.GP Petroleum, which last year acquired SAH Petroleum in India is a modest player in the domestic industrial lubricant space with its IPOL brand through this partnership with Repsol wants to build its position in the thriving automotive lubricants market.(ETauto.com)
  • The Maharashtra government has been working hard on providing automakers with more relief in terms of getting infrastructure in its place. Now, according to a recent report by Autocar, setting up a production facility in the state is going to get easier as the number of approvals required will be reduced.Sources claim that Subhash Rajaram Desai, the state’s Minister of Industries, spoke to Autocar Professional in an interview and said that the reducing the number of approvals required from a colossal 76 to 25 was high on the government’s agenda.
