  • Vinod Sahay, head of sales and marketing for intermediate and medium and heavy commercial vehicles at Tata Motors has resigned and is currently serving his notice period with the company. The 30th of June will be his last day at work with the company. Taking his position will be Rajesh Kaul, business head of CV, LCV & SCV Cargo.   • Volkswagen's corporate structure will be overhauled into a decentralised system with four holding companies, Handelsblatt said on Monday, citing company sources.Former BMW manager Herbert Diess will be in charge of one of these holding companies, which will include the VW, Skoda and Seat passenger car brands.The high costs of the German factories in VW's core business is an area with the biggest need for reform, Handeslblatt said.   • Mahindra Aerospace Pvt Ltd owned by the Mahindra Group on Monday said that it has won a large aero-component production contract from Germany-based Premium AEROTEC, a subsidiary of Airbus Group.The company did not disclose the value of the multi-year contract under which Mahindra Aerospace will manufacture and supply metallic components to be used in several Airbus aircraft programmes as part of assemblies made by Premium AEROTEC.(livemint)
  • Maserati is all set to hit Indian shores in the coming months. The Italian sports carmaker is likely to set its first, exclusive dealership in Mumbai. Ahmedabad-based Galaxy group is likely to be the company's official dealer.The GranTurismo and the Quattroporte are among the first cars from Maserati's product line that are likely to be introduced first. The GranTurismo is a sports coupé available with either a 4.2 litre or a 4.7 litre V8 motor. The Quattorporte is a 4-door luxury sedan powered by a 3.0 litre V6 petrol and a diesel engine. (team-bhp)
  • Malaysia's struggling national carmaker Proton is joining forces with Japan's Suzuki Motor Corp. in its latest bid to boost sales.Proton on Monday inked a memorandum of understanding and license agreement with Suzuki to "form a long term strategic collaboration and partnership."Proton Chairman Mahathir Mohamad, who is a former prime minister of Malaysia, said partnership details will be ironed out by next year. Having officially unveiled the design and features on the Kwid entry-level small car last month, Renault India is making sure to leave no stone unturned on its most affordable offering globally, which will be launched later this year in the country. Our sources close to the French automaker tell us that the company has roped in Ranbir Kapoor as the brand ambassador for the Kwid small car and will be shooting the TVC with the actor later this week (there will be four different commercials).
