Indian Automobile Sales - July 2015

  • Country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) on Saturday reported 20.1 per cent rise in total sales in July at 1,21,712 units.It had clocked sales of 1,01,380 cars in July 2014.The company said its domestic sales increased 22.5 per cent last month to 1,10,405 units, as against 90,093 units a in July last year.
  • Hero MotoCorp, India's largest maker of motorcycles and scooters said on Saturday its July sales fell 8 percent from a year earlier to 487,580 units.The company had sold 529,862 units in July 2014.
  •  Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) today reported 1.05 per cent decline in total car sales to 13,699 units in July. It had sold 13,845 cars during the same month last year. In the domestic market, TKM sold 12,070 units in July 2015 as compared to 11,921 units, up 1.24 per cent, from the same month last year, the company said in a statement. It exported 1,629 units of Etios series last month.
  • Eicher Motors' motorcycle brand Royal Enfield reported a 49 percent jump in its domestic sales in July to reach 39867 units, compared to 26,796 in the same month last year. Exports of the company also grew by 72 percent to 893, compared to 518 in July last year.
  • Honda Cars India on Saturday reported 18.44% increase in its domestic sales at 18,606 units in July.It had sold 15,709 units in July last year,Honda Cars India (HCIL) said in a statement.
  • Tata Motors continued to witness strong year-on-year growth in certain key segments in July 2015, with passenger cars (excluding UV's), M&HCV and Exports, growing by 27%, 21% and 16%, respectively, with the total sale of Tata Motors passenger and commercial vehicles (including exports) at 40,154 vehicles in July 2015, growing by 1% over 39,629 vehicles sold in July 2014. The domestic sale of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for July 2015 were at 35,076 nos., a decline of 1% over 35,266 vehicles sold in July 2014.Cumulative sales (including exports) for the fiscal at 1,56,664 nos., are higher by 5% over 1,49,633 vehicles, sold last year.
  • Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India on Saturday reported a 2.15 per cent increase in total sales at 3,89,626 units last month.The two-wheeler manufacturer had sold 3,81,411 units in July 2014, it said in a statement.Motorcycle sales, however, declined 24.30 per cent to 1,12,037 units last month, from 1,48,012 units in July 2014.
  • Suzuki Motorcycle India (SMIPL), a subsidiary of Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer Suzuki Motor Corporation, registered a 33 percent increase in its July 2015 sales by selling sold 36,081 units as compared to 27,118 units in July 2014."Suzuki sales continue to show double digit growth despite a slight downturn in the automobile market. This is a very heartening sign and several factors are responsible for it,"said Atul Gupta, Executive Vice President, SMIPL.
  • Ashok Leyland , the country's second largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, has registered a whopping 40 percent growth in July sales aided by medium & heavy commercial vehicles (MHCV). It sold 11,022 vehicles in the month gone by compared to 7,861 vehicles sold in the corresponding period of last fiscal
  • Atul Auto , the three-wheeler manufacturer, sold 12,555 vehicles in July, a growth of 4.89 percent compared to 11,970 units sold in same period last year.
  • Escorts Agri Machinery Segment (EAM) sold 3,430 tractors in July 2015, a fall of 20.5% from 4,317 tractors sold in July 2014. Domestic sales in July 2015 stood at 3,362 tractor against 4,126 in July 2014. Export for the month of July 2015 stood at 68 tractors against 191 tractors in July 2014, registering a drop of 64.4%.
  • Hyundai Motor India Ltd on Saturday reported a 5 per cent increase in total sales at 50,408 units last month.The company had sold 48,014 units in July 2014, it said in a statement.In the domestic market, Hyundai sold 36,500 units in July 2015 as against 29,275 units in the same month last year - an increase of 24.7 per cent.
  • TVS Motor Company recorded 2% growth in sales for the month of July 2015 with total sales increasing from 214,324 units recorded in the month of July 2014 to 218,321 units in the month of July 2015.
  •  India's leading SUV manufacturer Mahindra and Mahindra, on Saturday, announced its auto sales numbers which stood at 34, 652 units during July 2015 as against 35, 567 units during July 2014.Having hit the bottom in 2014, German car maker, Volkswagen has made a smart comeback this calendar year. Growing by an impressive 19 percent in the first six months of January to June 2015, VW India continued the run rate in July with another double digit growth month at 18 percent. The sales for July 2015 stood at 4029 units versus 3409 units it posted for the same month last year.
  • Bajaj Auto today registered a 3% increase in total sales in July at 3,30,231 units against 3,19,292 in the same month of 2014.Motorcycle sales during the month rose 5% to 2,82,433 units as against 2,67,841 in July last year, the company said in a BSE filing.
  •  Auto maker Ford India on Monday reported 14.17 per cent decline in total sales at 13,116 units in July.It had sold 15,282 units in July 2014.
  • Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt Ltd today reported 16.5 per cent increase in domestic sales during July 2015 at 58,591 units, as against 50,286 units sold in the same month last year. Exports during the month stood at 16,689 units as against 15,654 units in the year-ago month, up 6.6 per cent, the company said in a statement. 
  • VE Commercial vehicles Ltd. (A Volvo Group and Eicher Motors joint venture) has sold 3698 units in July 2015 (YTD 26846) as compared to 3402 units in July 2014 (LYTD 24878) recording a growth of 8.7% (YTD Growth of 7.9%). This includes 3652 units of Eicher brand and 46 units of Volvo brand.
  •  Mahindra Two Wheelers Ltd on Monday reported a 10.22 per cent increase in total sales at 15,056 units last month.The company had sold 13,659 units in the corresponding period a year ago.
