• Since December 1997, when Gold Seal-SaarGummi India, a joint venture between Gold Seal Engineering Products of Mumbai and Colt-Saargummi of Germany, opened the doors of its first manufacturing facility in India, it has come a long way. On March 12, the company inaugurated its third greenfield plant at Jakhwada, near Ahmedabad, for servicing the requirements of sealing systems in EPDM rubber for a key customer – Ford India – located in the vicinity. • The launch is set for the second half of March for Pulsar 200ss and now Bajaj dealers have started accepting bookings for the full-faired motorcycle. The booking amount is Rs. 10,000/- and deliveries will commence from next month. Demand for the 200 SS will be very high and the company will price it at Rs. 1.35 lakhs (on-road) for the ABS equipped model. • Two and three-wheeler manufacturer, TVS Motor has partnered with Kangra Central Co-operative Bank in Himachal Pradesh to finance purchase of its two wheelers. • Renault’s top management has confirmed a big, bad, seven-seater SUV for our part of the world. The new SUV will sit above the Kadjur, below the Espace and will replace the current gen Koleos in Asian markets – including India. • Suzuki India seems all prepared to introduce a reworked version of its bestseller model Gixxer in April 2015. Although nothing is confirmed from the company officials, experts revealed that there are few modifications in terms of design. It is learnt that the new model looks somewhat similar to the naked model of Gixxer. The technical configuration of the new model is also expected to be same as the naked Gixxer. This means that the new avatar of Gixxer will feature the same 154 cc four-stroke single cylinder engine, belting out a maximum power of 14 bhp with a highest torque of 14 Nm. Sources anticipate that the new Gixxer will carry a price tag of around Rs. 85000, and thus will compete against Honda CBR150R and Yamaha FZ. (cartrade.com)
