Automobile sales - February 2015 India

• Maruti Suzuki India (MSI), country's largest carmaker, on Monday reported 8.7 per cent increase in total sales in February at 1,18,551 units as against 1,09,104 units in the same period of last year.The company said its domestic sales increased by 8.2 per cent during the month to 1,07,892 units as against 99,758 units in February 2014. 

•  Toyota Kirloskr Motor registered a growth of 17% in February in month on month sales. The company sold 11,802 units in Feb 2015 in the domestic market as compared to 10,100 units in Feb 2014. The company began the year with 16% growth in Jan. Toyota Kirloskar Motor continues to register growth with total sales of 13,280 units (including exports) in Feb 2015 as opposed to 11,286 units sold in Feb 2014. The company exported 1,478 units of Etios series this month. 

• Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) today reported 2.4 per cent growth in total sales at 47,612 units in February.The company had sold 46,505 units in the same month of last year, HMIL said in a statement.In the domestic market, Hyundai sold 37,305 units last month as compared to 34,005 units in February 2014, up 9.7 per cent.During the month, the company's exports declined by 17.5 per cent to 10,307 units as against 12,500 units in the same period last year. 

• Bajaj Auto today reported a 21% decline in motorcycle salesat 2,16,077 units in February 2015.The company had sold 2,73,323 units in the year ago period.The two-wheeler major said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) that its exports declined by 20% during the month to 1,12,909 units from 1,42,009 units in the corresponding year-ago period.In the commercial vehicles category, Bajaj Auto's sales during the month stood at 27,242 units, down 32%, as against 39,971 units in January 2014. 

• Eicher Motors announced sales volumes of the Company for the month of February 2015.Total sales for February 2015 rose 49% to 30,240 units compared to 20,343 units in February 2014.This included 26,499 units of models with engine capacity upto 350 cc and 3741 units of models with engine capacity exceeding 350 cc. Exports for February 2015 stood at 749 units.

• Atul Auto reported sale of 3,402 no. of vehicles in February 2015 compared to 3,105 vehicles in February 2014, registering a growth rate of 9.57%.Total sales for the period April 2014 to February 2015 stood at 38,376 no. of vehicles compared to 34,343 vehicles in the corresponding period of the previous year, an increase of 11.74%.

• Tata Motors’ total sales including exports of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles in February 2015 were 44,225 units, a growth of 11% over 39,951 units, sold in February 2014. The company’s domestic sales of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for February 2015 were 40,314 units, a growth of 14% over 35,315 units, sold in February 2014. Cumulative sales (including exports) for the company for the fiscal are 449,802 units, lower by 13% over 515,511 units, sold last year.

• Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL), leading manufacturer of premium cars in India, registered monthly domestic sales of 16,902 units in February 2015 witnessing a growth of 16%. The company sold 14,543 units in the corresponding month last year.

• Hero MotoCorp, India's largest two-wheeler maker posted its sales volume for the month of February 2015. The company informed BSE that the sales clocked  484,769 Units of Two-Wheelers in Feb 2015, as against 5,04,181 in the corresponding month last year. The company also revealed that many new launches will be seen in the coming months, including new products in scooters. 

• Hinduja Group flagship company Ashok Leyland today reported a 36 per cent jump in total sales at 10,762 units for February, 2015, as against 7,915 units in the same month last year. :

• TVS Motor Company  today reported 15.14 per cent increase in total sales at 2,04,565 units in February. The Chennai-based company had sold 1,77,662 units in the same month last year. Total two-wheeler sales for the month grew by 14.8 per cent to 1,95,509 units as against 1,70,293 units in February 2014, TVS Motor Company said in a statement.

• General Motors India today reported 22.95% decline in salesat 4,320 units in February as against 5,607 units in the same month last year.Commenting on the performance, General Motors India Vice President P Balendran said: "The discontinuation of excise duty benefits impacted the industry during last two months."Even the Budget announcements are not enough to revive the consumer sentiment."
