Indian automobile Sales - September 2015


  •  Maruti Suzuki Indiahas reported 6.8 percent increase in total domestic sales for the month of September 2015, as against corresponding month last year, the company said in a BSE filing. It sold 1,06,083 units last month.When compared with total domestic sales of August 2015, Maruti Suzuki sold 698 units less in September.
  • Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) today reported a 9.83 per cent increase in total sales at 56,535 units in September.The company had sold 51,471 units in the same month last year, HMIL said in a statement.In the domestic market, Hyundai sold 42,505 units last month as compared with 35,041 units in September 2014, up 21.3 per cent.
  •  Ford India reported 63 percent jump in its combined domestic wholesales and exports in September, when compared with corresponding month last year, the company said in a press statement.It sold 22,428 units last month as against 13,742 vehicles in September 2014. September domestic wholesales stood at 8,274 vehicles (an increase of 22 percent) against 6,786 units in the same month last year, while exports witnessed jump of 103 percent. 
  • In September, the toyota sold 11,401 units in the domestic market and exported 1,252 units of the Etios against 12,542 units sold in the domestic market and 1,502 units of the Etios exported in September 2014, the company said.
  • TVS Motor Company announced that total sales of the Company in the month of September 2015 stood at 232,775 units against 236,751 units in September 2014. The Company lost sales of 20000 vehicles owning to non-availability of trucks due to transporters' strike.The Company's total exports rose 33% to 41,435 units in September 2015 from 31,229 units in September 2014. Two wheeler exports grew by 30% 30,908 units in September 2015 from 23,834 units in September 2014.
  • VE Commercial vehicles, a 50:50 joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, has sold 4248 units in September 2015 as compared to 3326 units in September last year, which is a growth of 27.7% (YTD Growth of 11.2%). This includes 4047 units of Eicher brand and 201 units of Volvo brand. 
  • Following the trends of previous months, Royal Enfield increased the sales of its motorcycles to a total of 44,491 units in September 2015, a growth of 58.78% from the same month last year.The Chennai-based two-wheeler maker had sold only 28,020 units in September 2014. The sales in the domestic market stood at 43,741 units against 27,540 units in the same month in 2014, which is 58.82% higher.
  • Escorts announced that Escorts Agri Machinery sold 5606 tractors in September 2015 compared to 7072 tractors in September 2014, registering a decline of almost 21%.Domestic sales comprised of 5576 tractors while exports for the month stood at 30 tractors, registering a decline of 18.5% and 86.8% respectively compared to domestic sales and exports in September 2014.
  • The Company has sold 4,302 vehicles in the month of September 2015  as compared to 4,149 vehicles in the month of September 2014.showing growth of 3.69%.Futher, the total sales for FY 2015-2016 was 20,763 vehicles as compared to 19,521 vehicles for FY 2014-2015, showing growth of 6.36%.
  • The biggest commercial vehicle manufacturer in India on Thursday announced flat sales in both passenger vehicle and commercial vehicle segments for September. Tata Motors sold 45,215 units, including both passenger and commercial vehicles, last month, down 2 per cent from a year-ago period. According to reports in the media, Tata Motors September United States JLR sales rose 61 per cent.
  • Mahindra and Mahindra's auto sales numbers stood at 42,848 units during September 2015 as against 44,911 units during September 2014, the SUV manufacturer said in a BSE filing.The passenger vehicles segment sold 19,564 units in September 2015, a decline of 7 percent when compared with same month last year.
  • Popular Indian 2 Wheeler maker, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India limited (HMSI) reported that it sold over 58,000 units in one single during the auspicious day of Ganesha Chaturthi. According to Honda 2 Wheelers sales report for the month of September, Honda saw a decrease of 2% sales when compared to 2015 sales.The cumulative 2 wheeler sales that includes both exports and domestic sales stood at 430,732 units on September as against to 438,470 unit sales in 2014 there by showing a decline of 2% in terms of Year-on-Year growth.
  • The fourth largest car manufacturer in the country, Honda Cars India Limited. (HCIL) have revealed that for the month of September 2015, their sales (including exports) stood at 19,291 units. This compared to their sales in September 2014 (15,395 units), is an increase of 23%.
  • Country's largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp today reported a marginal increase in the sales at 6,06,744 units in September.The company had sold 6,04,052 units in the same month last year, Hero MotoCorp said in a statement."Hero MotoCorp has consolidated its share in the domestic motorcycle market to 52 per cent and in the 125 cc segment to around 50 per cent," it added.
  • Bajaj Auto announced sales for September 2015. Accordingly, total sales stood at 384400 units in September 2015 compared to 399450 units in September 2014, recording a decline of 4%. Exports stood at 173801 units in September 2015 compared to 174211 units in September 2014. Total sales comprised of motorcycle sales of 330228 units and sales of commercial vehicles of 54172 units in September 2015.
  • India Yamaha Motor Pvt Ltd registered a growth of 13 per cent in domestic sales in September 2015, over the same period last year.The company sold 67267 units in September 2015 as against 59325 units sold in September last year.“The incessant growth numbers are a sign of success of Yamaha’s robust business plan and strategic customer engagement programs. The month has ended on a very positive note for us as we launched the new variant of YZF–R15S and the color variants of FZ-S Fuel Injector version and FAZER Fuel Injector version.
