  • Tyre major MRF  has proposed to increase capacity at its eight manufacturing facilities across the country as part of its capital expenditure plan. "The company, in line with its long term strategy, proposes to increase capacities across all its existing factories," MRF said in its reply to the BSE. (ETauto.com)
  • Tata Motors has announced that it has received an order for 1,542 Sumo Gold utility vehicles from various police and law enforcement agencies across the country. The Sumo Gold, which sells about 1,000 units a month, has a claimed fuel economy of about 15kpl and low cost of ownership, the company said in a statement.   (autocarpro.in)

  • Tata Motors Ltd is preparing to increase production of heavy-duty trucks and buses on expectations of higher demand for such vehicles after two years of decline, said two persons familiar with the auto maker’s plan. Lower inflation and a drop in the price of diesel after it was deregulated has triggered expectations of a pick-up in demand for heavy commercial vehicles, sales of which are a barometer for the larger economy.(livemint.com)
  • Austrian motorcycle manufacturer KTM has officially confirmed the firm’s plans of conceptualising and making new V-twin drivetrains. The company’s Chief Executive Officer, Stefan Pierer, was present at the EICMA automobile show in Milan and spoke about the introduction of new middleweight motorcycles, which will feature engines with a capacity ranging from 600 cc to 800 cc.(cartrade.com)
