  • Maruti Suzuki India has announced that its Ertiga MPV has crossed the milestone of 150,000 unit sales since the car’s launch in April 2012. In Q1 2014-15 (April-June 2014), the Ertiga has sold over 14,000 units. To commemorate this milestone, the OEM has introduced an Ertiga Limited Edition model in petrol (Rs 676,836), CNG (Rs 734,872) and Diesel (Rs 805,677, ex-showroom Delhi) variants, available in a new pearl blaze blue colour (in addition to Superior White and Silky Silver Metallic) with what the company says are factory-fitted high-end features is attractively priced.   • German car major Volkswagen plans to invest Rs 1,500 crore in India by 2020. The investment could include an engine and transmission manufacturing facility as well as some plant upgrades.   • Toyota Motor Corp. subsidiary Primearth EV Energy Co. Tuesday said it will increase its production capacity for nickel metal hydride batteries used in hybrid cars.To meet increasing demand for fuel-efficient cars, the Shizuoka-based subsidiary will expand its production capacity at its plant in Miyagi Prefecture in northeastern Japan, to 500,000 cars worth of rechargeable batteries from the current 300,000.   • Global automotive supplier Continental’s new turbocharger with water-cooled aluminium turbine housing has entered series production in the three-cylinder petrol engine of the Mini hatchback.
