- Ford Motor Co will soon name Chief Operating Officer Mark Fields as successor to Chief Executive Alan Mulally, a person familiar with the plans said on Monday. Mulally, the 68-year-old executive credited with reviving Ford's fortunes since taking its helm in 2006, will step down before the end of the year.
- Tata Motors is planning to build what it calls a ‘high-volume’ product on the X0 platform, which refers to the Indica platform. This new car would be manufactured in Tata Motors’ Sanand plant from 2015, where production of the Tata Nano is marching along at a terribly slow pace.

- Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) has announced the departure of VRV Sriprasad as vice-president (Marketing, Sales and Aftersales) with effect from May 1, 2014. R Ramesh, who was earlier AVP (Aftersales) will take over as head (Aftersales & Exports) and V Sreeram, who was earlier AVP (Sales) will take over as head (Domestic Sales, Product Management & Network). Both functions will report to the MD and CEO of DICV.
