- US-based supplier of liquid and powder coatings, Axalta
Coating Systems will double its production capacity and construct an automotive
OEM coatings development laboratory at its operations centre at Savli in
Gujarat, the company said in a release today. The company plans to invest an
undisclosed amount that will enable it to meet the need for additional coatings
among light vehicle automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in
India. The Savli facility will continue to manufacture coatings for Axalta’s
refinish, automotive parts and commercial vehicle customers, it said. The fresh
investments in India are in line with the company’s forecast to increase the
contribution of the Asia-Pacific region to its revenues from 15% at present to

- Car maker Hyundai Motor India (HMI) is looking at gaining
market share in taxi hailing segment, which is dominated by its rival Maruti
Suzuki. "Operators like Uber, Ola and others are aggressively increasing
its presence in the taxi hailing segment in India. We are looking at this
segment to gain market share", HMI Executive Director Y J Ahn told

- Singapore-based private equity firm Everstone Capital has
purchased a controlling stake of over 51 per cent in domestic auto components
maker SJS Enterprises for an estimated Rs 350 crore, executives close to the
development said.The money will be used to expand capacity.The PE firm,
launched by former Goldman investment bankers Samir Sain and Atul Kapur,
acquired 26 per cent stake owned by American specialty printing company
Serigraph and another 25 per cent stake from the three owners of the

- Debt-ridden Amtek Auto has pledged an additional 4.37 per cent
stake in its subsidiary Castex Technologies towards short-term

The new Tata Bolt hatch and sedan have arrived in South
Africa, sporting stylish designs and are packed with segment first connectivity
technology. Manufactured in Pune, India, the Bolt range has a new design

Tata Bolt Sedan
The launch of HORIZONEXT, Tata Motors' strategic plan,
marked the paradigm shift in terms of fresh product design for the brand. Tata
Bolt is the first vehicle from Tata Motors that clearly exemplifies the
HORIZONEXT themes of Intense Product Focus, World-class Manufacturing Quality,
Enriched Purchase Experience and Consistent Quality of Service for its
passenger vehicle business.
The styling of the Tata Bolt sedan is based on its new
design direction of 'Confident Dynamism'. With a classy new forward pouncing
stance and well-sculpted body, the design portrays a sense of power and
agility. The Tata Bolt comes with a neatly-layered dashboard in Java Black for
a high-tech inviting feel.
The Tata Bolt comes standard with the Revotron 1.2L
Turbocharged Multi-point Fuel Injection (MPFi) petrol engine. It has been
developed in conjunction with global consultancies and suppliers to deliver
world-class performance in terms of power, torque and efficiency.
The Multi-Drive mode functionality is one of the key
innovations in the Tata Bolt. The 'Multi-Drive' technology enables switching

experience which features the 5" ConnectNext Touchscreen, Advance voice

Tata Bolt Hatchback
The word BOLT signifies speed, representing an attitude of
winning and staying ahead. This attitude is embodied in the new Tata BOLT hatch
in all aspects of design, drive and seamless connectivity.
The silhouette reveals smooth, flowing lines finishing in a
flat edge of the spoiler. While the rear-spoiler aids in aerodynamics, the
effect of the wraparound rear windows by darkened C-pillar creates a
distinctive floating roof design and provides an extra sporty touch to this
hatch.
The Tata Bolt hatch comes standard with DriveNext features
such as the REVOTRON engine, Multi-Drive Mode and an infotainment system. The
Bolt hatch powered by the REVOTRON 1.2L Turbocharged MPFi petrol engine, gives
maximum power output of 66kW@5000 RPM and peak torque of 140Nm@1500-4000 RPM.
With the Multi-Drive feature, the Bolt can switch between
default, ECO and CITY mode. This coupled with advanced catalytic converter to
reduce toxic emissions and Smart ECU (Electronic Control Unit) with various
innovative strategies, ensures a responsive performance. The dual-path
suspension coupled with a zero pivot sub-frame ensures smooth and comfortable
ride and the 9th generation ABS with EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution) from
Bosch for improved braking efficiency, and the Corner Stability Control

For Tata Bolt hatch, Tata Motors has continued its
association with HARMANTM for developing the touchscreen infotainment system.
The Bolt hatchback starting retail price is R132 995 Incl.
VAT, while the Bolt sedan starting retail price is R142 995 Incl. VAT. The
vehicles will be available for sale, across the country in 43 Accordian
dealerships as of today. The Bolt range will be available in two trims XMS and
XT, respectively. The range will be available in a choice of 5 colours.
Attractively-styled, competitively priced and offering
buyers the option of a five-door hatchback or a compact four-door sedan; the
Bolt range is well placed to grow Tata's share of the important B-segment.

- Two days after Volkswagen AG announced it was reviewing all
planned investments in the wake of a global emissions scandal, the company’s
Indian unit said it would continue to invest to develop a new made-in-India
compact sedan, an engine, and an engine assembly line.The company will invest Rs.1,500
crore by 2018-19 of whichRs.240 crore will go into new engine development plans
and its first engine manufacturing facility, while the rest will be used to
develop the sedan, increase localization, and improving the productivity of its

- Polaris India, the wholly owned subsidiary of Polaris
Industries Inc which makes off-road and all-terrain vehicles, today inaugurated
its first Indian Motorcycle dealership in Mumbai. This is the fifth dealership
of the motorcycle brand in India. By end-2016, the plan is to expand the

- Production of Honda BR-V compact crossover is scheduled to commence
at Honda Car India’s Tapukara plant (Rajasthan) in April 2016, reports Autocar
Professional. The 7-seat SUV which was unveiled at the Indonesia International
Motor Show earlier this year is the Japanese automaker’s answer to the Hyundai
Creta, Maruti S-Cross and Renault Duster.The Honda SUV will be heavily relying on its additional set

- Focus on quality—that was the stern message that went out to
the vendors of Tata Motors Ltd from Cyrus P. Mistry, chairman of the Tata Group
at the company’s annual vendors’ meet on Tuesday.Addressing around 200
suppliers in Pune, Mistry warned that “relationships may get compromised”, if
vendors do not work with the company on improving quality, said four people who
attended the meet.“There will be zero tolerance on non-compliance on quality,”

Indian automobile Sales - September 2015
- Maruti
Suzuki Indiahas reported 6.8 percent increase in total domestic sales for
the month of September 2015, as against corresponding month last year, the
company said in a BSE filing. It sold 1,06,083 units last month.When compared
with total domestic sales of August 2015, Maruti Suzuki sold 698 units less in
September.
- Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) today reported a 9.83
per cent increase in total sales at 56,535 units in September.The company had
sold 51,471 units in the same month last year, HMIL said in a statement.In the
domestic market, Hyundai sold 42,505 units last month as compared with 35,041
units in September 2014, up 21.3 per cent.
- Ford India reported 63 percent jump in its combined
domestic wholesales and exports in September, when compared with corresponding
month last year, the company said in a press statement.It sold 22,428 units
last month as against 13,742 vehicles in September 2014. September
domestic wholesales stood at 8,274 vehicles (an increase of 22 percent) against
6,786 units in the same month last year, while exports witnessed jump of 103
percent.
- In September, the toyota sold 11,401 units in the domestic
market and exported 1,252 units of the Etios against 12,542 units sold in the
domestic market and 1,502 units of the Etios exported in September 2014, the
company said.
- TVS Motor Company announced that total sales of the
Company in the month of September 2015 stood at 232,775 units against 236,751
units in September 2014. The Company lost sales of 20000 vehicles owning to
non-availability of trucks due to transporters' strike.The Company's total exports rose 33% to 41,435 units in September
2015 from 31,229 units in September 2014. Two wheeler exports grew by 30%
30,908 units in September 2015 from 23,834 units in September 2014.
- VE Commercial vehicles, a 50:50 joint venture between Volvo
Group and Eicher Motors, has sold 4248 units in September 2015 as compared to
3326 units in September last year, which is a growth of 27.7% (YTD Growth of
11.2%). This includes 4047 units of Eicher brand and 201 units of Volvo brand.
- Following the trends of previous months, Royal Enfield
increased the sales of its motorcycles to a total of 44,491 units in September
2015, a growth of 58.78% from the same month last year.The Chennai-based
two-wheeler maker had sold only 28,020 units in September 2014. The sales in
the domestic market stood at 43,741 units against 27,540 units in the same
month in 2014, which is 58.82% higher.
- Escorts announced that Escorts Agri Machinery sold 5606
tractors in September 2015 compared to 7072 tractors in September 2014,
registering a decline of almost 21%.Domestic sales comprised of 5576 tractors
while exports for the month stood at 30 tractors, registering a decline of
18.5% and 86.8% respectively compared to domestic sales and exports in
September 2014.

- The biggest commercial vehicle manufacturer in India on
Thursday announced flat sales in both passenger vehicle and commercial vehicle
segments for September. Tata Motors sold 45,215 units, including both passenger
and commercial vehicles, last month, down 2 per cent from a year-ago period.
According to reports in the media, Tata Motors September United States JLR
sales rose 61 per cent.
- Mahindra and Mahindra's auto sales numbers stood at 42,848
units during September 2015 as against 44,911 units during September 2014, the
SUV manufacturer said in a BSE filing.The passenger vehicles segment sold
19,564 units in September 2015, a decline of 7 percent when compared with same
month last year.
- Popular Indian 2 Wheeler maker, Honda
Motorcycle and Scooter India limited (HMSI) reported that it sold over
58,000 units in one single during the auspicious day of Ganesha Chaturthi.
According to Honda 2 Wheelers sales report for the month of September, Honda
saw a decrease of 2% sales when compared to 2015 sales.The cumulative 2 wheeler sales
that includes both exports and domestic sales stood at 430,732 units on
September as against to 438,470 unit sales in 2014 there by showing a decline
of 2% in terms of Year-on-Year growth.
- The fourth largest car manufacturer in the country, Honda
Cars India Limited. (HCIL) have revealed that for the month of September 2015,
their sales (including exports) stood at 19,291 units. This compared to their
sales in September 2014 (15,395 units), is an increase of 23%.
- Country's largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp today
reported a marginal increase in the sales at 6,06,744 units in September.The
company had sold 6,04,052 units in the same month last year, Hero MotoCorp said
in a statement."Hero MotoCorp has consolidated its share in the domestic
motorcycle market to 52 per cent and in the 125 cc segment to around 50 per
cent," it added.
- Bajaj Auto announced sales for September 2015.
Accordingly, total sales stood at 384400 units in September 2015 compared to
399450 units in September 2014, recording a decline of 4%. Exports stood at
173801 units in September 2015 compared to 174211 units in September 2014.
Total sales comprised of motorcycle sales of 330228 units and sales of
commercial vehicles of 54172 units in September 2015.
- India Yamaha Motor Pvt Ltd registered a growth of 13 per
cent in domestic sales in September 2015, over the same period last year.The
company sold 67267 units in September 2015 as against 59325 units sold in
September last year.“The incessant growth numbers are a sign of success of
Yamaha’s robust business plan and strategic customer engagement programs. The
month has ended on a very positive note for us as we launched the new variant
of YZF–R15S and the color variants of FZ-S Fuel Injector version and FAZER Fuel
Injector version.
Honda Cars India Ltd. registers 23% growth in domestic sales in September 2015

The company registered a cumulative domestic sales of 97,217 units in first half of FY 15-16 (April -September 2015) against 88,200 units for the corresponding period last year marking a growth of 10%.
HCIL also exported a total of 782 units during September 2015.

Atul auto Sales Performance for September 2015

Tata Motors sales for September 2015 at 45,215 units
Sales of Tata Motors passenger and commercial vehicles (including exports) were lower by 2% at 45,215 units, sold in September 2015, over 46,154 vehicles sold in September 2014. The domestic sale of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for September 2015 were flat at 40,813 nos., over 40,908 vehicles sold in September 2014.
Cumulative sales (including exports) for the fiscal at 242,569 nos., higher by 2% over 236,670 vehicles, sold last year.
Passenger Vehicles
In September 2015, Tata Motors passenger vehicles sales were flat at 11,774 nos., compared to 11,931 nos.
The sale of the passenger cars in September 2015 were higher by 5% at 10,226 nos., compared to 9,766 nos., in September 2014. UV sales declined by 28% at 1,548 nos., in September 2015.
Cumulative sales of all passenger vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal are 65,006 nos., higher by 15% over last year.
Commercial Vehicles
In commercial vehicles, M&HCV sales continued to grow at 15,915 nos., higher by 52%, over September 2014. The Light & Small Commercial Vehicle sales however continued to reflect industry decline and were at 13,124 nos., a decline of 29% over September 2014.These impacted the overall commercial vehicles sales for Tata Motors in the domestic market, that were flat at 29,039 nos. in September 2015.
Cumulative sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal was 149,361 nos., lower by 4% over last year. Cumulative LCV sales was 77,204 nos., a decline of 22% over last year, while M&HCV sales at 72,157 nos., were higher by 27%, over last year.
Exports
The company's sales from exports were 4,402 nos., in September 2015, lower by 16% compared to 5,246 vehicles in September 2014. The cumulative sales from exports for the fiscal at 28,202 nos., were higher by 16%, over 24,316 nos., sold last year.

Total sales of TVS Motor Company for the month of September 2015 stood at 232,775 units against 236,751 units recorded in the month of September 2014. The company lost sales of 20,000 vehicles owing to non-availability of trucks due to transporters’ strike.

The company's total exports grew by 33% to 41,435 units in September 2015 from 31,229 units in September 2014. Two wheeler exports grew by 30% to 30,908 units in September 2015 from 23,834 units in September 2014.

Total two wheeler sales stood at 221,002 units in September 2015 compared to 227,589 units sold in September 2014. Domestic two wheeler sales in September 2015 stood at 190,094 units against 203,755 units in September 2014.
Scooters sales of the company grew by 14% to 75,369 units in September 2015 increasing from 65,993 units in September 2014. Motorcycles sales stood at 90,378 units in September 2015 against 91,627 units in September 2014.
