Toyota Kirloskar Motor Registers 1% Growth in Sales in August 2015

Domestic sale from January to August 2015 registers a growth of 14% when compared to the domestic sale of the corresponding period last year

The New Camry registers more than 100% growth as compared to the same period last year
Etios series registers a growth of 15% in sales from January to August 2015 when compared to the corresponding period last year

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) sells 12,547 units in August 2015 there by registering a growth of 1%.  TKM sold a total of 95,316 units from January to August 2015 as compared to 83,755 units sold in the corresponding period last year, thereby registering a cumulative growth of 14% in the domestic market. TKM exported 1,386 units of the Etios series this month.

The new Camry more than doubled its sales therefore registering a growth of over 100%. Toyota Camry sold 687 units from January to August, 2015 and currently with the existing pending orders, the total sale of Camry in 2015 sums up to exceed the total sales of Camry in 2014. Camry Hybrid constitutes more than 80% of this sale. This indicates the wide acceptance of hybrid technology in the Indian market.


Commenting on the growth, Mr. N. Raja, Director & Sr. Vice President, Toyota Kirloskar Motorsaid, “We have registered 1% growth in the overall market this month. The growth can be partly attributed to the success of the New Camry which has doubled its sales in the domestic market and with the existing pending orders will soon exceed the total sales of Camry in 2014. This also shows the well acceptance of hybrid technology in India. We would like to thank the Government of India for the support extended towards hybridization by introducing FAME which is intended to support hybrid/electric vehicles market development and its manufacturing eco-system to achieve self – sustenance by the end of 2020.

We have also seen a surge in the Etios series as it clocks a growth of 14% in sales from January to August 2015 when compared to the same period last year.  We would like to thank our customers who have appreciated the recently launched EtiosXclusive- a limited edition with premium offering from Toyota in India. SUZUKI TWO-WHEELERS ON A STEADY GROWTH PATH Records 68% increase in sales in August 2015

SUZUKI MOTORCYCLE INDIA PVT. LTD., a subsidiary of one of the world’s leading two-wheeler manufacturer Suzuki Motor Corporation, registered a whopping 67.58% increase in their August 2015 sales figures as compared to August 2014. 
SUZUKI MOTORCYCLE SOLD 36,636 UNITS IN AUGUST 2015 AS OPPOSED TO 21,862 UNITS IN AUGUST 2014, RECORDING A SUBSTANTIAL GROWTH IN ITS OVERALL SALES. 
Suzuki Motorcycles has maintained a consistent growth path over the last couple of years.

VECV reports 20% growth in August 2015

VE Commercial Vehicles sells 3711 units in August 2015, recording growth of 20.2% VE Commercial vehicles Ltd. (A Volvo Group and Eicher Motors joint venture) has sold 3711 units in August 2015 (YTD 30557) as compared to 3087 units in August 2014 (LYTD 27965) recording a growth of 20.2% (YTD Growth of 9.3%). 

This includes 3611 units of Eicher brand and 100 units of Volvo brand. The following are the key highlights for August 2015 

 Eicher branded trucks and buses have recorded total sales of 3611 units in August 2015(YTD 29889) as compared to 3027 units in August 2014(LYTD 27488), representing a growth of 19.3% (YTD Growth of 8.7%). 

 In the domestic CV market ( 5T and Above), Eicher Trucks and Buses have recorded sales of 3009 units in August 2015 (YTD 26479) as compared to 2571 units (LYTD 23547) in August 2014, representing a growth of 17% (YTD Growth of 12.5%) 

 On the Exports front Eicher Trucks and Buses have recorded sales of 602 units in August 2015 (YTD 3410) as compared to 456 units in August 2014 (LYTD 3941) representing a growth of 32%. 

 Volvo trucks have recorded sales of 100 units in August 2015(YTD 668) as compared to 60 units (LYTD 477) in August 2014, representing a growth of 67% (YTD growth of 40%).

Mahindra reports flat sale in August 2015

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M Ltd.), India’s leading SUV manufacturer, today announced its auto sales numbers which stood at 35,634 units during August 2015 as against 35,180 units during August 2014.

The Passenger Vehicles segment (which includes UVs, Cars and Vans) sold 14,198 units in August 2015 as against 15,321 units during August 2014. The company’s domestic sales stood at 32,122 units during August 2015 as against 33,150 units during August 2014. In August 2015, the Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles segment sold 341 units, registering a growth of 21%.

Exports for August 2015 stood at 3,512 units, registering a growth of 73%.
Speaking on the auto sales performance, Pravin Shah, President & Chief Executive (Automotive), M&M Ltd. said, “While currently we are witnessing fragmented recovery in auto sales, we are hopeful that the upcoming festive season will provide a much needed fillip to the auto industry. Our export sales have grown with a record high of 73% compared to previous year. Overall we have had a positive month and the launch of new models is expected to further improve overall performance. At Mahindra, we are gearing up for an exciting launch of our forthcoming TUV300.”

Mahindra Tractors sells 10,751 units in India during August 2015 , Sales down by 22%

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.’s Farm Equipment Sector (FES), a part of the USD 16.9 billion Mahindra Group, today announced its sales numbers for August 2015.

Domestic sales in August 2015 stood at 10,751 units, as against 13,733 ­­units during August 2014. Total tractor sales (domestic + exports) during August 2015 stood at 11,699 units, as against 15,006 units for the same period last year. Exports for the month stood at 948 ­­­­units.

Commenting on the month’s performance, Rajesh Jejurikar, President & Chief Executive - Farm Equipment and Two Wheeler Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said, “We sold 10,751 tractors in the domestic market during August 2015. While monsoon has reported 12% deficient so far, we are hopeful that improved rainfall in the remaining period would infuse positive sentiment for the coming season. In export markets, we sold 948 tractors.”

TVS Motor Company sales at 227,653 units in August 2015

TVS Motor Company recorded total sales of 227,653 units in the month of August 2015 against 225,064 units in the month of August 2014; posting a growth of 1% over the same month of the previous year.

Exports

The company's total exports grew by 21% with sales increasing from 35,074 units in the month of August 2014 to 42,570 units in the month of August 2015. Two wheeler exports grew by 22% with sales increasing from 27,115 units in the month of August 2014 to 33,128 units in the month of August 2015.

Two Wheeler

Total two wheeler sales of the company increased from 215,244 units in the month of August 2014 to 216,781 units in the month of August 2015. Domestic two wheeler sales for the month of August 2015 stood at 183,653 units against 188,129 units in the month of August 2014.

Scooters sales grew by 11% increasing from 65,544 units in the month August 2014 to 72,865 units in the month of August 2015. Motorcycles sales grew by 6% increasing from 82,320 units in the month of August 2014 to 87,044 units in the month of August 2015.

Three Wheeler

Three wheeler sales of the company grew by 11%, increasing from 9,820 units in the month of August 2014 to 10,872 units in the month of August 2015.

Tata Motors sales for August 2015 at 40,680 units

·         Passenger cars grew by 19%
·         M&HCVs and Exports continued to grow by 31% and 16% respectively in August 2015     

Tata Motors continued to witness strong year-on-year growth in certain key segments in August 2015, with passenger cars (excluding UV’s), M&HCV and Exports, growing by 19%, 31% and 16%, respectively. Total sale of Tata Motors passenger and commercial vehicles (including exports) were flat at 40,680 vehicles sold in August 2015, over 40,883 vehicles sold in August 2014. The domestic sale of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for August 2015 were at 35,478 nos., a decline of 3% over 36,403 vehicles sold in August 2014.

Cumulative sales (including exports) for the fiscal at 1,97,344 nos., higher by 4% over 1,90,516 vehicles, sold last year.

Passenger Vehicles

In August 2015, Tata Motors passenger vehicles recorded a year-on-year growth of 2%, with sales of 11,194 nos., compared to 10,975 nos.

The growth trend was driven by the cars segment, specifically the new launches. The sale of the passenger cars in August 2015 were higher by 19% at  9,814 nos., compared to  8,229 nos., in August 2014. UV sales declined by 50% at 1,380 nos., in August 2015.  

Cumulative sales of all passenger vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal are  53,232 nos., higher by 19% over last year.

Commercial Vehicles

In commercial vehicles, M&HCV sales continued to grow at 12,017 nos., higher by 31%, over August 2014. The Light & Small Commercial Vehicle sales however continued to reflect industry decline and were at 12,267 nos., a decline of 25% over August 2014. These impacted the overall commercial vehicles sales for Tata Motors in the domestic market, that were at  24,284 nos. in August 2015, a decline of 4% over August 2014.

Cumulative sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal was 1,20,322  nos., lower by 5% over last year. Cumulative LCV sales was 64,080 nos., a decline of 20% over last year, while M&HCV sales at  56,242 nos., were higher by 21%, over last year.  


Exports

The company's sales from exports were 5,202 nos., in August 2015, higher by 16% compared to 4,480 vehicles in August 2014. The cumulative sales from exports for the fiscal at 23,790  nos., were higher by 25%, over 19,070 nos., sold last year.

India Automobile Sales - August 2015



  • Maruti Suzuki India sold total of 1,17,864 vehicles in August 2015, a growth of 6.4 per cent. This includes 1,06,781 units in the domestic market and 11,083 units in exports.The company had sold a total of 1,10,776 units in August 2014.In August 2015, sales of mini cars Alto and Wagon R jumped 8.6 per cent to 37665 units from 34686 units in the same month last year.However, sales of compact cars like Swift, Ritz, Celerio and Dzire declined by 11.30 per cent Year-on-Year to 41,461 units.
  • Hyundai Motor India (HMIL) has recorded its highest ever domestic sales of 40,505 units for the month of August 2015, the company said in a statement. It witnessed a growth of 20 percent in its sales.However, on the exports front the company experienced a decline of 1.8 percent by selling 14,103 units in August 2015 as compared to 14,361 units in August 2014.
  • Eicher Motors' motorcycle brand Royal Enfield reported a 59 percent jump in its combined domestic wholesale and exports in August to reach 42,360 units, compared to 26,643 in the same month last year.This is the first time that Royal Enfield has sold more than forty thousand units in a month.
  • Atul Auto has reported 14.82% growth in sales for the month of August 2015 at 3,906 units as compared to 3,402 units sold in August 2014. The company’s total sales from April to August this year rose by 7.08% and stood at 16,461 units as compared to 15,372 units sold in the same period last year.
  • Ford India sold 21,520 vehicles in combined domestic wholesales and exports in August 2015, compared to 14,092 vehicles in the corresponding month last year, registering a jump of 53 percent.
  • Honda Cars India today reported a 6.58 per cent decline in its domestic sales at 15,655 units
  • in August.It had sold 16,758 units in August last year, Honda Cars India (HCIL) said in a statement.Last month, the company sold 622 units of small car Brio, 5,404 units of hatchback Jazz, 3,260 units of compact sedan Amaze, 899 units of MPV Mobilio and 5,405 units of the mid-sized sedan City.
  • TVS Motor reported a marginal increase in two-wheeler sales during the month of August 2015 at 216,781 units as compared to 215,244 units, a year ago.Domestic two-wheelers sales stood at 183,653 units as compared to 188,129 units, a drop of 2.37%.Scooter sales, which includes exports also, grew by 11% to 72,865 units in August 2015 from 65,544 units in August 2014. Motorcycles sales, includes exports also, grew by six% to 87,044 units in August 2015 as compared to 82,320 units.
  • Tata Motors, India's largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, reported a sharp 4 percent year-on-year fall in its commercial vehicle sales in August. The company sold 24,284 CVs in the month. The passenger vehicle sales, however, went up by 2 percent in the month, reaching 11,194 units compared to 10,975 units in August 2014. In passenger vehicle, it was the cars that showed growth by advancing 19 percent in sales to touch 9,814 units, compared to 8,229 in the same month last year. Utility vehicle sales were down 50 percent y-o-y as Tata Motors sold only 1,380 units in the month.

  • Bajaj Auto announced sales for August 2015. Accordingly, total sales stood at 341965 units in August 2015 compared to 336840 units in August 2014, recording a growth of 2%. Exports stood at 181658 units in August 2015 compared to 175127 units in August 2014, a growth of 4%. Total sales comprised of motorcycle sales of 290436 units and sales of commercial vehicles of 51529 units in August 2015.
  • Escorts has dipped 7% to Rs 162 on the BSE after reported 33.7% year-on-year (YoY) drop in total sales at 2,402 tractors in the month of August 2015 against 3,624 tractors in the same month last year.Domestic sales in August 2015 stood at 2,355 tractors against 3,147 in August 2014. Export for the month of August 2015 at 47 tractors against 477 tractors in August 2014, Escorts said in a statement.
  • Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles (VECV) recorded a growth of 20.2 percent in August 2015 by selling 3711 units, up from 3087 units in August 2014. In 2015, the company's year-to-date sales stood at 30,557, up by 9.3 percent from 27,965 in the same period last year.In the domestic CV market ( 5T and Above), Eicher Trucks and Buses have reported sales of 3009 units in August 2015 as against 2571 units in same month last year, witnessing a growth of 17%.
  • Ashok Leyland has reported a 39% growth in sales during the month of August 2015 at 11,544 units as compared to 8,333 units in August 2014.M&HCV sales rose by 53% to 8,903 units from 5,832 units, while light commercial vehicles (LCV) sales rose by 6% to 2,641 units from 2,501 units.
  • Suzuki Motorcycle India has clocked a healthy growth in the year on year sales numbers for the month of August 2015, registering a 67.58% increase against August 2014 numbers. Suzuki Motorcycle sold 36,636 units in August 2015 as opposed to 21,862 units in August 2014, recording a substantial growth in its overall sales.
  • India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. released it sales figure for the month of August, 2015. The Japanese two-wheeler giant hiked its domestic sales by 15 per cent. In total, Yamaha sold 61,440 units in August 2015 as against 53,242 units sold in August last year in the domestic market thereby registering a domestic sales growth of 15 per cent. 
  • Two-wheeler manufacturer Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) today reported a 1.86 per cent increase in total sales at 3,95,262 units in August. The company had sold 3,88,016 units in the corresponding month last year, HMSI said in a statement. 
  • Hero MotoCorp (HMCL), the world's largest two-wheeler manufacturer, reported a drop of 13.98% in two-wheelers sales to 480,537 units in August 2015. The company had sold 558,609 units in the corresponding month last year.Committed to add impetus to the sector as market leader, the company has lined up a slew of new products leading up to festive season. The festive season this year will begin almost three weeks late, as compared to last year, and this shift in season is also reflected in the subdued sales in August vis-a-vis same period last year.
  • Volkswagen, the European automaker, sold 4191 units in August 2015 as compared to 4007 units sold in the corresponding month of the previous year, an increase of 4.5 percent.The growth trend for Volkswagen has continued for seven months in a row with year to date increase of 17 percent in 2015 over the same period last year.

While City sold 5,405 units in August, Jazz was close on its heels with 5,404 units sold.
