Indian Automobile sales - October 2015

 

  •  Two wheeler manufacturer Royal Enfield posted domestic sales of 44,138 units in October 2015, recording a growth of 73 percent over same period last year, the company said in a statement.The company's total business (combined wholesale and exports) witnessed jump of 71 percent and stood at 44,522 units last month, as against 26,039 units during October 2014. 
  • Commercial vehicle manufacturer Ashok Leyland has registered total sales growth of 17 percent for the month of October 2015, the company informed in a BSE filing. The company sold 9,804 units last month as against 8,402 units for corresponding month last year.
  •  Honda Cars India has registered a growth of 52 percent with monthly domestic sales of 20,166 units in October 2015 as against 13,242 units in the corresponding month last year, the company said in a statement.The company registered a cumulative domestic sales of 1,17,383 units during the period April - October 2015 as against 1,01,442 units for the corresponding period last year marking a growth of 16 percent. 
  •  Hyundai Motor India, the South Korean car maker, is continuing the enjoy the success of its compact SUV Creta, as it registers the highest ever domestic monthly sales in India. The company sold 47,015 units in October 2015, as against 38,010 units in the same month last year, which is a jump of 23.7 percent
  • Honda Motorcycle and Scooter sales were at a record high selling the highest number of two wheelers in a month in India. Scooter sales increased from 199,466 units to 270,371 units; while motorcycle sales declined marginally from 162,188 to 161,685 units. Cumulative sales stood at 4.49 lakh units in October 2015 resulting in a growth of 19% over the same period last year. Below is a detailed report of HMSI sales report.
  • American automobile manufacturer Ford India sold 20,420 vehicles in combined domestic wholesales and exports in October, compared to 11,630 vehicles in the corresponding month last year, thus witnessing a jump of 76 percent, the company said in a statement.October domestic wholesales rose 49 percent to 10,008 vehicles against 6,723 units in the same month last year, while exports more than doubled to 10,412 vehicles compared to 4,907 units in October 2014.
  • Toyota Kirloskar Motor witnessed a growth of 8 percent in combined domestic sales and exports for the month of October 2015, the company informed in a media release. It sold a total of 13601 units last month, as against 12,556 units in October 2014.
  • Automaker Mahindra & Mahindra's on-year tractor sales in October fell 12 percent to 28,081 units, the company notified the Bombay Stock Exchange on Sunday, because of the weakness of monsoon rains vital for much of the country's agriculture.The top utility vehicle maker said in a release however it expected the coming festive season to bolster demand.
  •  India Yamaha Motor reported a 29.43 per cent increase in domestic sales in October at 70,800 units as against 54,698 in the same month last year.Exports during the month stood at 12,797 units as against 12,148 a year ago, up 5.34 per cent, the company said in a statement.
  •  Escorts Agri Machinery Segment sold 5,862 tractors in October 2015 as against 8,554 in same month last year, the farm equipment manufacturer informed in a BSE filing. It witnessed a de-growth of 31.5 percent.Domestic sales stood at 5,832 units, down 30.6 percent when compared with October 2014. Exports for the month of October 2015 fell by 80.1 percent and stood at 30 tractors as against 151 during October 2014.
  • Suzuki Motorcycle sales grew by 15% to 35,936 units (including exports) in October 2015 as compared to 31,240 units sold in October 2014. Suzuki Gixxer was the top selling product during the past month with total sales over 10,000 mark.
  • VE Commercial Vehicles sold 3,985 units in October 2015 as compared to 3,084 units in same month last year, registering a growth of 29.2 percent, the company informed in a statement.Year to date sales, after selling 38,790 units, witnessed 12.8 percent growth when compared with corresponding period last financial year.
  • Hero MotoCorp, India's largest two-wheeler manufacturer, notched up its highest ever monthly sales in October, the company said in a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange.Hero MotoCorp's October sales were ahead of estimates, rising 11 per cent year-on-year to 6.4 lakh units. Shares in the company jumped over 2 per cent in afternoon trade.

  • In commercial vehicles, M&HCV sales continued to grow at 12,504 nos., higher by 20%, over October 2014. The Light & Small Commercial Vehicle sales however continued to reflect industry decline and were at 13,615 nos., a decline of 19% over October 2014. These impacted the overall commercial vehicles sales for Tata Motors in the domestic market that were at 26,119 nos. in October 2015, a decline of 4% over October 2014.Cumulative sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal was 175,480 nos., lower by 4% over last year. Cumulative LCV sales was 90,819 nos., a decline of 22% over last year, while M&HCV sales at 84,661 nos., were higher by 26%, over last year.
  • India's largest automobile manufacturer by volume Maruti Suzuki has reported 29.1 percent increase in total sales (domestic+export) for the month of October 2015, the company informed in a BSE filing.It sold 1,34,209 units last month as against 1,03,973 units during October 2014.The company's total domestic sales grew by 24.7 percent, while its exports witnessed a jump of 90.4 percent.
  • Indian utility vehicle manufacturer Mahindra and Mahindra has announced its auto sector sales for the month of October on Sunday in a press statement. The company's auto sales numbers stood at 51,383 units as against 42,780 units during October 2014, representing a growth of 20 percent.
  • In October 2015, Tata Motors passenger vehicles recorded a year-on-year growth of 11%, with sales of 12,798 nos., compared to 11,511 nos.The growth trend was driven by the cars segment, specifically the new launches. The sale of the passenger cars in October 2015 were higher by 15% at 11,049 nos., compared to 9,594 nos., in October 2014. UV sales declined by 9% at 1,749 nos., in October 2015.Cumulative sales of all passenger vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal are 77,804 nos., higher by 14% over last year.
  • Mahindra Two Wheelers also reported an increase in sales during October 2015 to the extent of 16,439 units while exports grew substantially to 1,113 units. Domestic sales during October 2015 were 15,326 units. When compared with October 2014 report, the sales declined form 22,404 to 16,439 units, registering 27% decline.
  • Tata Motors continued to witness strong year-on-year growth in certain key segments in October 2015, with passenger cars (excluding UV's), M&HCV and Exports, growing by 15%, 20% and 13%, respectively. Total sale of Tata Motors passenger and commercial vehicles (including exports) were at 43,486 vehicles, higher by 1%, over 42,862 vehicles, sold in October 2014. The domestic sale of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for October 2015 were at 38,917 nos., remained flat, over vehicles sold in October 2014.Cumulative sales (including exports) for the fiscal at 286,055 nos., higher by 2% over 279,532 vehicles, sold last year.
  • Amid the on-going emissions scandal, the German car manufacturing companyVolkswagen has sold 3,255 units in October. 
  • New product launches in the small commercial vehicle segment and extending the M&HCV range are reflecting Mahindra & Mahindra’s (M&M) strong sales numbers in October 2015. The company’s total commercial vehicle sales are up 31 % in the month with sales of 18,756 units (October 2014: 14,345). Like last month, Mahindra M&HCV sales remain strong, up 169% with 581 units (October 2014: 216 units).  Bucking the industry trends largely due to the popular pick-up range, the less than 3.5 T GVW segment notched 29% growth; it sold 17,770 units (October 2014: 13,811 units). Similarly, the above 3.5T GVW segment sales rose 27%, selling 405 units (October 2014-318 units).
  • TVS Motor Company has reported a 14% growth in salesfor the month of October 2015 with total sales increasing from 241,044 units recorded in the month of October 2014 to 274,622 units in the month of October 2015.Total two wheeler sales grew by 14% from 231,990 units recorded in the month of October 2014 to 264,112 units in the month of October 2015.
