Mahindra Tractors sells 27,280 units in India during October 2015

hindra & Mahindra Ltd.’s Farm Equipment Sector (FES), a part of the USD 16.9 billion Mahindra Group, today announced its sales numbers for October 2015.
Domestic sales in October 2015 stood at 27,280 units, as against 30,800 ­­units during October 2014. Total tractor sales (domestic + exports) during October 2015 stood at 28081 units, as against 31907 units for the same period last year. Exports for the month stood at 801 ­­­­units.


Commenting on the month’s performance, Rajesh Jejurikar, President and Chief Executive - Farm Equipment and Two Wheeler Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said, “We have sold 27,280 tractors in the domestic market during October 2015. We expect upcoming festive season will bring in improved sentiments and demand in coming month. Despite deficient monsoon this year, the late showers in last leg of monsoon are likely to improve sentiments for rabi sowing and hope of better second crop. In export markets we sold 801 tractors during October 2015.”

TVS Motor Company clocks 14% sales growth in October 2015

TVS Motor Company recorded 14% growth in sales for the month of October 2015 with total sales increasing from 241,044 units recorded in the month of October 2014 to 274,622 units in the month of October 2015.

Exports

The company's total exports grew by 20% with sales increasing from 34,855 units in the month of October 2014 to 41,682 units in the month of October 2015. Two wheeler exports grew by 18% with sales increasing from 27,696 units in the month of October 2014 to 32,621 units in the month of October 2015.

Two Wheeler

Total two wheeler sales grew 14% from 231,990 units recorded in the month of October 2014 to 264,112 units in the month of October 2015. Domestic two wheeler sales of the company grew 13% from 204,294 units in October 2014 to 231,491 units in October 2015.

Scooters sales of the company grew by 30% increasing from 70,571 units in the month of October 2014 to 91,430 units in the month of October 2015. Motorcycles sales grew by 17% increasing from 90,779 units in the month of October 2014 to 106,175 units in the month of October 2015.

Three Wheeler

Three wheeler sales of the company registered an increase of 16%, growing from 9,054 units in the month of October 2014 to 10,510 units in the month of October 2015. 


HERO MOTOCORP OCTOBER SALES HIGHEST-EVER IN ANY MONTH

  • SELLS 639,802 UNITS OF TWO-WHEELERS IN OCTOBER, GROWS BY 11.25%
  • SURPASSES LANDMARK 1-LAKH UNIT SALES IN SCOOTERS IN A MONTH, GROWS BY 74.6%
  • REPORTS 20% MARKET SHARE IN SCOOTERS, UP FROM 13% IN SEPTEMBER
Hero MotoCorp Ltd, the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, today reported sales of 639,802 units in October – its highest ever sales in any month. This is agrowth of 11.25% over the corresponding month last year when the company had sold 575,056 units.
Hero MotoCorp’s previous highest sales in any month was in October 2013 when it sold 625,420 units.
With over 108,000 units of scooters sold in October, Hero MotoCorp crossed the landmark 1-lakh unit sales in scooters in a month. In the domestic market, Hero MotoCorp scooter sales grew by 74.6% in October this year over the corresponding month in 2014.
With this, the market share of Hero MotoCorp in the domestic scooter market has risen from 13% in September to almost 20% at the end of October. 
The highlight of October has clearly been the overwhelming success of the company’s newly-expanded scooters range – Maestro, Pleasure, and the two newly-launched scooters - Maestro Edge & Duet. The success of the scooters, coupled with its over 52% share in motorcycles, Hero MotoCorp has further strengthened its overall leadership in the two-wheeler market.
HMCL has been the only Indian two-wheeler manufacturer to ever exceed the landmark of 6-lakh plus monthly sales, that too on multiple occasions. The company has crossed this milestone on four previous occasions – September 2015 (606,744), September 2014 (604,052), May 2014 (602,481) and October 2013 (625,420).

Tata Motors sales for October 2015 at 43,486 units

Key Highlights:
  • Passenger cars grew by 15% in October 2015
  • M&HCVs and Exports continued to grow by 20% and 13% respectively in October 2015
Tata Motors continued to witness strong year-on-year growth in certain key segments in October 2015, with passenger cars (excluding UV's), M&HCV and Exports, growing by 15%, 20% and 13%, respectively. Total sale of Tata Motors passenger and commercial vehicles (including exports) were at 43,486 vehicles, higher by 1%, over 42,862 vehicles, sold in October 2014. The domestic sale of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for October 2015 were at 38,917 nos., remained flat, over vehicles sold in October 2014.
Cumulative sales (including exports) for the fiscal at 286,055 nos., higher by 2% over 279,532 vehicles, sold last year.
Passenger Vehicles
In October 2015, Tata Motors passenger vehicles recorded a year-on-year growth of 11%, with sales of 12,798 nos., compared to 11,511 nos.
The growth trend was driven by the cars segment, specifically the new launches. The sale of the passenger cars in October 2015 were higher by 15% at 11,049 nos., compared to 9,594 nos., in October 2014. UV sales declined by 9% at 1,749 nos., in October 2015.
Cumulative sales of all passenger vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal are 77,804 nos., higher by 14% over last year.
Commercial Vehicles
In commercial vehicles, M&HCV sales continued to grow at 12,504 nos., higher by 20%, over October 2014. The Light & Small Commercial Vehicle sales however continued to reflect industry decline and were at 13,615 nos., a decline of 19% over October 2014. These impacted the overall commercial vehicles sales for Tata Motors in the domestic market that were at 26,119 nos. in October 2015, a decline of 4% over October 2014.
Cumulative sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal was 175,480 nos., lower by 4% over last year. Cumulative LCV sales was 90,819 nos., a decline of 22% over last year, while M&HCV sales at 84,661 nos., were higher by 26%, over last year.
Exports
The company's sales from exports were 4,569 nos., in October 2015, higher by 13% compared to 4,059 vehicles in October 2014. The cumulative sales from exports for the fiscal at 32,771  nos., were higher by 15%, over 28,375 nos., sold last year.

Honda Cars India Ltd. registers 52% growth in domestic sales in October 2015




Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL), leading manufacturer of premium cars in India, registered a growth of 52% with monthly domestic sales of 20,166 units in October 2015 against 13,242 units in the corresponding month last year.

The company registered a cumulative domestic sales of 1,17,383 units during the period April -October 2015 as against 1,01,442 units for the corresponding period last year marking a growth of 16%.

Speaking on the company’s sales performance, Mr Jnaneswar Sen, Sr. Vice President – Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd. said, “The festive demand has led to a strong growth for HCIL during October where-in we recorded our highest monthly sales of this fiscal year.  We are thankful to our customers for their great response and support and hope to continue this momentum.

HCIL also exported a total of 134 units during October 2015.

Hyundai Motor records All-Time High Domestic Sales with 47,015 units

Domestic sales grew by 23.7%; Overall growth of 10.3%
 Hyundai Motor India Ltd, the country’s leading premium car manufacturer and the largest passenger car exporter recorded highest-ever domestic sales of 47,015 units and exports of 14,777 units with cumulative sales of 61,792 units for the month of October 2015.
Commenting on the October sales, Mr. Rakesh Srivastava, Sr. VP- Sales and Marketing, HMIL said,"Hyundai sales of 47,015 units are all-time highest with an all-time high sales of Grand i10 with 14,079 units & continued strong performance of Modern Premium Brands CRETA & Elite i20/Active with 18,244 units with maximised production to meet the strong demands of the Customers so as to minimise the waiting period as we expect the growth momentum to continue in the coming months with improving customer sentiments."

Maruti Suzuki recorded growth of 29% in October 2015

Maruti Suzuki India Limited leader in passenger vehicles sold a total of 134,209 units in October 2015, a growth of 29.1 per cent. This includes 121,063 units in the domestic market and 13,146 units in exports.
The Company had sold a total of 103,973 units in October 2014.

Dr. Brijmohan Lall, Founder of Hero Group, passes away

With profound grief and deep sadness, we regret to inform that the visionary Founder of the diversified Hero Group, Dr. Brijmohan Lall Munjal, passed away here today at 7.05 pm. He was 92.
Dr. Munjal was also the Chairman Emeritus of Hero MotoCorp.
A first-generation entrepreneur, Padma Bhushan Brijmohan Lall led the Hero Group to a number of firsts.  Under his leadership, Hero Cycles Limited has been the World’s largest manufacturer of bicycles since 1986 and figures in the Guinness Book of World Records.
Hero MotoCorp (Formerly Hero Honda Motors Ltd) is the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer now for 14 consecutive years.
An institution-builder, Dr. Lall also led the Hero Group to successfully venture into other areas such as auto ancillary, financial services, renewable energy, education and electronics.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor Sold 13, 601 Units in October 2015

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) sold 12, 403 units in the domestic market and exported 1198 units thus selling a total of 13, 601 units in October 2015. TKM had sold 12, 556 units in October 2014.
The Etios series registered a cumulative growth of 12% from January to October 2015 when compared to the same period last year. This growth can be attributed to the overwhelming response received to the recently launched New Liva.
The company also registered a cumulative growth of 9% by selling 119, 095 units in the domestic market from January to October 2015 as compared to 108, 863 units sold from January to October 2014.
The New Camry sales from April to October 2015 has already exceeded total Camry sales in 2014. Furthermore, the latest Fortuner TRD has got a very good response from buyers attributing to the overall growth in sales.
Commenting on the sales, Mr. N Raja, Director and Senior Vice - President, Sales and Marketing said "With the festive season on, we have seen a growth of 9% in our sales from January to October 2015 when compared to the same period last year. The Etios series has also seen a cumulative growth. The New Liva- introduced to delight our customers this festive season has received an overwhelming response from the buyers. The sale of new Camry continues to grow and has already exceeded the total sales of Camry in 2014. Camry Hybrid constitutes 90% of the total New Camry sales."
