Mahindra Auto Sector sells 34,652 units during July 2015

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M Ltd.), India’s leading SUV manufacturer, today announced its auto sales numbers which stood at 34,652 units during July 2015 as against 35,567units during July 2014.

The Passenger Vehicles segment (which includes UVs, Cars and Vans) sold 14,456 units in July 2015 as against 16,569 units during July 2014. The company’s domestic sales stood at 31,087 units during July 2015 as against 33,047 units during July 2014. In July 2015, the Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles segment sold 314 units, registering a growth of 11%.
Exports for July 2015 stood at 3,565 units registering a growth of 41%.

Speaking on the auto sales performance, Pravin Shah, President & Chief Executive (Automotive), M&M Ltd. said, “While the auto industry is currently seeing muted growth, we do believe that the launch of some exciting new products will help it turn the tide. In addition, with the advent of a good monsoon till date and reduction in fuel prices, we expect sentiments to improve, leading to overall growth in auto sales. Mahindra Tractors sells 14,273 units in India during July 2015

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.’s Farm Equipment Sector (FES), a part of the USD 16.9 billion Mahindra Group, today announced its sales numbers for July 2015.

Domestic sales in July 2015 stood at 14,273 units, as against 16,379 units during July 2014. Total tractor sales (domestic + exports) during July 2015 stood at 15460 units, as against 17,407 units for the same period last year. Exports for the month stood at 1,187 ­­­units, registering a growth of 15%.

Commenting on the monthly performance, Rajesh Jejurikar, President & Chief Executive - Farm Equipment and Two Wheeler Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said, “We have registered a sale of 14,273 tractors during July 2015 in the domestic market. Owing to the advent of a good monsoon across India, sowing has begun in full earnest which should improve market sentiments going forward. At Mahindra, we have seen a positive trend in our tractor exports which has grown by 15% during the last month.”

VE Commercial Vehicles sells 3698 units in July 2015

VE Commercial vehicles Ltd. (A Volvo Group and Eicher Motors joint venture) has sold 3698 units in July 2015 (YTD 26846) as compared to 3402 units in July 2014 (LYTD 24878) recording a growth of 8.7% (YTD Growth of 7.9%). This includes 3652 units of Eicher brand and 46 units of Volvo brand.

The following are the key highlights for July 2015

 Eicher branded trucks and buses have recorded total sales of 3652 units in July 2015(YTD 26278) as compared to 3341 units in July 2014(LYTD 24461), representing a growth of 9.3% (YTD Growth of 7.4%).
 In the domestic CV market ( 5T and Above), Eicher Trucks and Buses have recorded sales of 3050 units in July 2015 (YTD 23470) as compared to 2955 units (LYTD 20976) in July 2014, representing a growth of 3.2% (YTD Growth of 11.9%)

 On the Exports front Eicher Trucks and Buses have recorded sales of 602 units in July 2015 (YTD 2808) as compared to 386 units in July 2014 (LYTD 3485) representing a growth of 56%.
 Volvo trucks have recorded sales of 46 units in July 2015(YTD 568) as compared to 61 units (LYTD 417) in July 2014, representing YTD growth of 36%.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor sells 12,070 units in July, 2015

- Registers growth in the domestic market.
- Etios sales grew by 60% in July when compared to the same month last year.
- Fortuner sales grows faster than the segment with 18% growth in first half of the year.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) sold 12,070 units in July 2015 compared to 11,921 units in July 2014, thereby registering 1% growth in the domestic market.
TKM sold a total of 13,699 units in July 2015. The company exported 1,629 units of Etios series last month.

Etios grew by 60% with 2,827 units sold last month when compared to 1,769 units in July 2014. Etios series sold 31,301 units in Jan - July 2015 when compared to 26,942 units in Jan - July 2014. Sales of Etios series grew by 16% during this period.
Fortuner - the undisputed segment leader since launch - has grown faster than the segment in the first half of the year. Fortuner registered 18% growth in the period Jan - June 2015, exceeding the segment growth of 12%. With the launch of the New Fortuner in Jan 2015, it continues to delight customers and maintain its undisputed leadership position in the segment with 74% market share from Jan - June 2015.

 Car market leader Maruti Suzuki India Limited sold a total of 121,712 units in July 2015, a growth of 20.1% per cent. This includes 110,405 units in the domestic market and 11,307 units in exports.

Hyundai Domestic Sales Grew by 24.7% in July 2015

 Hyundai Motor India Ltd, the country’s leading premium car manufacturer and the largest passenger car exporter registered the domestic sales of 36,500 units and exports of 13,908 units with cumulative sales of 50,408 units for the month of July 2015.
Commenting on the July sales Mr. Rakesh Srivastava, Sr. VP- Sales and Marketing, HMIL said," Hyundai's new age product portfolio led by the newly launched Global SUV CRETA sustained the growth momentum with 24.7% growth with a volume of 36,500 units. The tremendous response for the Global SUV CRETA, i20 Active & Elite i20 showcases the customers increasing preference & early adoption for game changer products offering novelty value in style, first in segment features & strong after sale assurances."


Honda Cars India Ltd. registers 18% growth in domestic sales in July 2015

Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL), leading manufacturer of premium cars in India, registered monthly domestic sales of 18,606 units in July 2015 against 15,709 units in the corresponding month last year, registering a growth of 18%.

The company cumulatively sold 63,053 units during April – July’15 as against 56,427 units sold during the same period last year, marking a growth of 12%.

Speaking on the company’s performance Mr. Jnaneswar Sen, Sr. Vice President – Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd. said, “We are extremely delighted to receive a great consumer response for all new Jazz. We would like to thank our customers for the continuous support to all our models and are confident that we will continue to do well in respective segments.” 

HCIL also exported a total of 614 units during July 2015.

TVS motors record 2% growth in July 2015

TVS Motor Company recorded 2% growth in sales for the month of July 2015 with total sales increasing from 214,324 units recorded in the month of July 2014 to 218,321 units in the month of July 2015.

Exports

The company's total exports grew by 15% with sales increasing from 36,986 units in the month of July 2014 to 42,677 units in July 2015. Two wheeler exports grew by 15% with sales increasing from 29,557 units in July 2014 to 33,945 units in July 2015.

Two Wheeler

Total two wheeler sales grew from 205,360 units recorded in July 2014 to 208,044 units in July 2015. Domestic two wheeler sales recorded in the month of July 2015 was 174,099 units against 175,803 units in July 2014.

Scooters sales of the company grew by 10% increasing from 63,250 units in July 2014 to 69,626 units in July 2015. Motorcycles registered sales of 77,397 units in July 2015 against 80,658 units in July 2014.

Three Wheeler

Three wheeler sales of the company registered an increase of 15%, growing from 8,964 units in July 2014 to 10,277 units in July 2015. 

HERO MOTOCORP SELLS 487,580 UNITS OF TWO-WHEELERS IN JULY 2015

Hero MotoCorp Ltd (HMCL), the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, clocked 487,580 units of two-wheelers in despatch sales in the month of July 2015. The company had sold 529,862 units in the corresponding month last year.The retail sales of Hero MotoCorp continue to be better than despatches. The industry expects the good monsoon and the oncoming festive season to revive sentiments and bring buoyancy in the market.

Ashok Leyland sales up by 40% in July 2015



Ashok Leyland , the country's second largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, has registered a whopping 40 percent growth in July sales aided by medium & heavy commercial vehicles (MHCV). It sold 11,022 vehicles in the month gone by compared to 7,861 vehicles sold in the corresponding period of last fiscal. MHCV sales jumped 53 percent year-on-year to 8,803 units and light commercial vehicle sales grew by 5 percent to 2,219 units in the same period.
