Hyundai announces price increase across all models

Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL), the country’s largest passenger car exporter and second largest car manufacturer announced the price increase across all its models with effect from March 01, 2016 on account of the new levies announced in the Union budget.
Commenting on the price hike, Mr. Rakesh Srivastava, Sr. Vice President, Sales and Marketing said,“The new levies in Union Budget 2016 have led to price increase across the models ranging from Rs 2,889 to Rs. 82,906. Today’s customers are discerning on net off value offerings. The change in price value equations could alter the overall demand, from with-in the segment to across the segments and fuel types.”

Suzuki launches "Made in India" Baleno in Japan

After the overwhelming success of Baleno in India, Suzuki Motor Corporation, parent company of Maruti Suzuki India Limited launched ‘Made in India’ Baleno in Japan today.
Baleno, first exhibited at the Frankfurt Motor Show in Sept 2015, was launched in India on 26th October 2015. Baleno is manufactured only in India at Maruti Suzuki’s Manesar facility in Haryana. Since its launch, Maruti Suzuki has sold over 38,000 units of Baleno cars in domestic market. Baleno will be exported more than 100 countries.
On the occasion of launch ceremony held in Tokyo today, H.E. Mr. Sujan R. Chinoy, Ambassador of India to Japan said, “Maruti Suzuki exports to over 125 countries including those in Europe, which is proof of their quality. Anand Mahindra Conferred "Knight of the Legion of Honour"

 H.E. Mr François Richier, Ambassador of France to India, conferred the Chevalier de la Legion d'Honneur (Knight of the Legion of Honour) on Mr Anand G. Mahindra, Chairman and Managing Director of Mahindra & Mahindra, at the Residence of France on 5th March 2016. The highest French civilian distinction came in recognition of Mr Anand Mahindra’s outstanding national and international achievements and initiatives at the helm of the Mahindra Group.
Mr Mahindra is recognized as one of the most prominent business leaders in India, who has turned Mahindra & Mahindra into a global company of outstanding repute.
Under his leadership, fruitful partnerships have been developed, among many others, between French and Indian industries: with French auto manufacturer Renault in India; with Peugeot Scooters France, after its acquisition by the Mahindra Group in 2014; and Tech Mahindra interests in France (commercial office in Paris and R&D and engineering centre in Toulouse). For his wide-ranging expertise, he is often called on to serve on various boards and committees: at the French President's invitation, he participated in the Strategic Attractiveness Council in Paris (17 February and 19 October 2014), which brought together 25 company heads from across the world.

The second-row seats can recline up to 32.5 degrees, and there is more headroom than in competing SUV models, guaranteeing maximum comfort for any passengers in the back seats even during long trips. A latchtype folding system allows the back seats to fold down 60:40, and when the seats are completely folded down, a total of 1,440 liters of cargo space becomes available.

The e-XDi160 diesel engine, also used in the Tivoli, produces 115ps and a maximum torque of 30.6 kg m. Also, it delivers maximum torque between 1,500 and 2,500 rpm, which is usually reached at common driving speeds, and provides a pleasant driving experience.
The Aisin six-speed automatic transmission has been recognized for its superb performance and excellent power transmission, which is why it has been chosen and used by numerous global automakers. By optimizing the components of the power transmission system, the overall fuel efficiency of the engine has been improved, while power loss has been minimized.
As an option, customers may also choose the smart 4WD system, which greatly enhances the on - and offroad driving experience. This system achieves optimal power distribution based on the road and driving conditions and features multi-link suspension, which provides higher level of comfort and improved drive quality and safety.
Another defining characteristic of the Tivoli Air is that it is composed of 71.1 percent high-strength steel, more than any other vehicle in its class. Ten major parts of the vehicle have been made with hot press formed advanced high-strength steel with a tensile strength of 1500 Mpa, more than twice the strength of typical advanced high-strength steel (over 600 Mpa), providing greater safety for the driver and passengers by minimizing vehicle deformation in the event of a crash.
In addition to its seven airbags, including the knee airbag on the driver's side, the Tivoli Air features a ESP (electronic stability program) system, TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system), and LED daytime running lights, in addition to other cutting-edge safety technologies, all designed to ensure the highest level of safety.
The vehicle's infotainment system is particularly noteworthy, as it features HDMI input, allowing images, sound, and video to be relayed and displayed on the Tivoli Air's large seven-inch screen, which is also connected to the backup camera. Also, the six-speaker sound system (standard in all trim levels) provides a high-quality audio experience for all passengers.
The Tivoli Air is equipped with the best air-conditioning system in its class. Its dual-zone, fully automatic airconditioning system allows the driver to maintain an optimum in-vehicle temperature, and the memory function allows up to three combinations of temperature and air-flow volume and direction to be stored, guaranteeing a pleasant driving experience in all four seasons.
In addition, the Tivoli Air is equipped with a ventilated seat on the driver’s side, a heated steering wheel, and heated second-row seats, all of which are adjustable according to users' preferences. Also, a cargo cover screen, front automatic windshield washer switch, and automatic hazard light switch have been added to enhance driver convenience.
In order to allow customers to express their personalities to the greatest extent possible, SsangYong Motor provides a two-tone roof as a standard option for all seven colors (single-tone roof for the sunroof option). This permits customers to choose a color for the roof and rear roof spoiler that is different from the body of the vehicle, adding to the Tivoli Air's dynamic, urban style.
In the global market, Ssangyong Motor plans to increase the annual sales of Tivoli brand to over 80,000 units, including 20,000 Tivoli Air.

Maruti Suzuki Alto touches historic 30 lakh sales milestone

Alto, India’s top selling model for over 10 years in a row, has crossed the 30 lakh sales milestone in the Indian market. It took about 15 years and 6 months for Alto to achieve this historic figure. Alto is the only Indian auto brand to cross this milestone.
Since its launch, Alto has found favour with its customers as an affordable car with good design, performance and high fuel efficiency. Customers, especially at the entry-level, have valued Alto as a win-win package of style and affordability.

Hyundai Domestic Sales Grew by 9.1%

Hyundai Motor India Ltd, the country’s leading car manufacturer and the largest passenger car exporter registered the domestic sales of 40,716 units in February 2016.
Commenting on the February sales Mr. Rakesh Srivastava, Sr. Vice President Sales and Marketing, Hyundai Motor India Ltd. said, "“Hyundai domestic sales grew by 9.1% on the strength of strong performance of the three ‘Indian Car Of The Year’ brands Creta, Elite i20 and Grand in spite of logistic challenges for transportation of vehicles to North India and loss of many business days of dealership operations across Haryana."

Maruti Suzuki Sales in January 2016

Maruti Suzuki India Limited leader in passenger vehicles sold a total of 113,606 units in January 2016. This includes 106,383 units in the domestic market and 7223 units in exports.
Domestic sales would have been higher, but lesser number of working days in January 2016 impacted overall production and dispatch.
The Company had sold a total of 116,606 units in January 2015.
